Fantini Mosaici Masterpiece Da Vittorio Caffè Louis Vuitton
A work of art in the heart of Milan, where artisanal mastery, contemporary design, and urban nature come together.
To mark the reopening of Louis Vuitton’s historic location at No. 2 Via Montenapoleone, Fantini Mosaici contributed to the creation of the flooring for the exclusive Da Vittorio Caffè Louis Vuitton.
The courtyard—conceived as an elegant jardin d’hiver—features at its center a floor that is both an artwork and a testament to Italian craftsmanship. The original design by artist Martin Klein comes to life through a composition of natural marble pebbles, crafted using the traditional reverse mosaic technique on paper. The stones, all sourced in Italy—including Carrara, Occhialino, Giallo Siena, and Fior di Pesco marbles—were selected to create a nuanced gradient of whites, greys, and blacks.
Covering approximately 88 square meters, the floor required three months of work in the workshop and twenty days of on-site installation, carried out by a highly specialized team.
This collaboration is part of the broader restoration of Palazzo Taverna, a historic residence dating back to 1835, originally designed by Ferdinando Albertolli. Thanks to the vision of architect Peter Marino, the building has been transformed into a multifunctional space blending fashion, design, and fine dining—redefining the brand experience in the heart of Milan. Within this context, the pebble floor becomes a symbolic gesture between memory and modern vision.
Fantini Mosaici’s contribution goes well beyond the courtyard: the company also oversaw the installation of marble floors, cladding, and staircases across approximately 2,500 square meters, including the spectacular monumental staircase that connects the different levels of the store.
The collaboration with Louis Vuitton is not new: Fantini Mosaici has already delivered prestigious works for the brand’s boutiques around the world—from Portofino to Dubai, Atlanta to Madrid, and in cities such as Florence and Rome—bringing Italian artisanal excellence to the most exclusive settings of international luxury.
