Fantini Mosaici’s 2025 Global Recap

The atelier’s 2025 portfolio spans the globe, bridging the gap between heritage and modern luxury

2025 marked a remarkable milestone for Italian atelier Fantini Mosaici: our 125th anniversary — a legacy defined by craftsmanship, innovation and a dedication to bespoke surfaces. The occasion was honoured not by looking back, but by continuing to create: through a series of exceptional projects developed in collaboration with some of the world’s most discerning luxury brands and leading designers.

Throughout the year, Fantini Mosaici’s artisans criss-crossed continents, bringing their handcrafted expertise to spaces shaped by internationally renowned designers, including the late Frank Gehry and Peter Marino. Each project carried with it a quiet Milanese sensibility — refined, precise and deeply rooted in material intelligence.

In Los Angeles, the flagship Pomellato boutique on Rodeo Drive was enhanced with a jewel-like mosaic floor, its intricate surface echoing the facets of precious stones. In Milan, the new Bvlgari boutique on Via Monte Napoleone welcomed visitors with a delicately hand-sprinkled terrazzo floor and sculptural staircase. Nearby, the new Valentino boutique was embellished with a refined marble floor and wall features, while in Portofino, Orologeria Verga was completed with an elegant marble installation. Within the same riviera, we collaborated with architect Marco Bay to craft a bespoke pebbles-stone outdoor project for the porte-cochère at Villa Beatrice, a Belmond property, further enriching the estate’s storied landscape. Two further Moncler boutiques in the United States were inaugurated, each featuring bespoke marble flooring.

Fantini Mosaici’s long-standing collaboration with Louis Vuitton continued to flourish. In Milan’s Quadrilatero d’Oro, a pebblestone floor was created for Louis Vuitton Café Da Vittorio, designed by Peter Marino, while a striking marble floor was completed for the maison’s new boutique in Tokyo. Working alongside architect Hugo Toro, we also installed a bespoke palladiana mosaic floor for Le Café Louis Vuitton in Seoul, housed within Frank Gehry’s distinctive architecture.

The year also saw Fantini Mosaici’s presence extend across hospitality and travel destinations, from a customised terrazzo floor at Locanda Cipriani in Torcello, Venice — a historic retreat once favoured by Ernest Hemingway — to a mosaic swimming pool aboard a superyacht in the Netherlands. In Morocco, mosaic floors and terrazzo elements were installed at the new Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay hotel.

Back in Italy, we created mosaic flooring for Florence’s famous Caffè Gilli – the city’s oldest café and a favourite of writers, artists and actors since 1733 – and for the newly renovated al fresco Stravinskij Bar, designed by Paolo Moschino, in the stunning Hotel du Russie in Rome.

The year’s centrepiece was a custom, meandering mosaic floor designed by Formafantasma for Casa Italia, the new Italian Embassy in London, conceptualised by Nick Vinson.

Looking ahead, Fantini Mosaici continues work on several prestigious projects, including: 1 Mayfair in London; a confidential installation for Eaton Hall Estate; a new handcrafted intervention at Locanda Cipriani; and the unveiling in Oslo of ‘Upholding’ — a monumental 12 × 15-metre mosaic of 500,000 stones, designed by Matias Faldbakken to honour the victims of the 2011 terror attacks.

With the new year approaching, Fantini Mosaici looks ahead with the same commitment to craftsmanship, collaboration and material excellence that has defined our atelier for 125 years.

Felice Anno Nuovo
